01 Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and limited information generated automatically when you use StampInk.
Information you provide:
- Email address — when you request a trial code, purchase a license, or subscribe to product updates.
- Payment details — processed by our payment processor (PayPal). We do not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials on our servers.
- Support communications — if you contact us by email for support or sales inquiries, we retain that correspondence.
Information collected automatically:
- License validation data — license key, device identifier, seat count, and activation timestamps, used to enforce your license tier and device limits.
- Usage logs — basic server logs including IP address, browser/OS type, and timestamps, retained for security and diagnostic purposes.
What we do not collect: StampInk processes PDF files locally in your browser session. We do not upload, transmit, or store the contents of any PDF or document you open, create, or edit in the application, and we do not receive your signatures, initials, stamps, certificate images, digital certificate files or their passwords, or vault password.
Optional cloud storage integration: StampInk offers an optional, in-beta feature to open and save files directly from Google Drive. If you use this feature, StampInk requests access only to the specific file you explicitly select — never to your Drive as a whole — and that file transfers directly between your browser and Google's servers. StampInk's own servers do not see, receive, or store the file at any point. This connection uses Google's drive.file permission scope, which by design limits access to files you have explicitly opened or created with StampInk.
02 Third-Party Cloud Storage Providers
If you choose to connect a cloud storage provider (currently Google Drive) to open or save files, your use of that connection is also subject to that provider's own privacy policy and terms of service — StampInk does not control, and is not responsible for, how the provider handles your account or file data outside of the specific transfer described above.
You can review or revoke StampInk's access to your Google account at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions.
03 Saved Items & Local Storage on Your Device
Some StampInk features keep information in your browser's storage on your own device. None of it is sent to us.
- Password-protected vault — saved signatures, initials, a stamp image, and, if you import one, your digital certificate (the .p12 or .pfx file together with its file password). Each item is encrypted in your browser with a key derived from your password using standard browser cryptography (the Web Crypto API) before it is stored. The password is never transmitted, and the unlocked key exists only in memory for the current page session. Digital signing runs in your browser on your device; your certificate and its private key are not sent to us. Only descriptive details of an imported certificate — its subject name, issuer, and validity dates — are stored unencrypted, so they can be shown without unlocking the vault.
- Certificate quick-insert slots — images and short labels you save for quick insertion, such as a notarial certificate. These slots are not encrypted; anyone who can open StampInk in your unlocked browser profile can see them.
- Preferences — settings such as your language and which tips you have already seen.
Because this information never leaves your device, we cannot see it, recover it, or restore it. If you forget your vault password, the vault must be reset — which also removes any imported digital certificate — and its items saved or imported again. Clearing your browser data, or using a different browser or device, removes or hides these items.
04 How We Use It
We use the information we collect to:
- Issue, validate, and manage your license key and seat allocations.
- Process payments and send transaction receipts.
- Respond to your support and sales inquiries.
- Send you trial codes you've requested and important account notices (e.g., license expiration).
- Detect and prevent abuse of the trial key program or license system.
- Improve the reliability and performance of StampInk.
We will not use your email address to send marketing communications unless you have separately opted in. You can unsubscribe from any such communications at any time via the link in those emails.
05 Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers — we use PayPal for payment processing and may use a transactional email provider to deliver license keys and receipts. These providers may only use your data to provide their services to us.
- Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of N2EDU INC, our users, or others.
- Business transfer — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is subject to a materially different privacy policy.
06 License Keys & Device Data
StampInk uses a license key system to manage access across devices. StampInk shares its license service with PlanInk, another product of N2EDU INC. When you activate a license, we record the key, the number of seats activated, the device identifiers associated with each seat, and activation timestamps.
This data is stored in our license database on our VPS infrastructure hosted in the United States. It is used exclusively for license enforcement and abuse prevention. Device identifiers are hashed before storage and are not used for any purpose other than validating your license.
StampInk licenses are issued to individuals: one seat and up to 3 devices per license. If you need to transfer or reset device assignments, please contact us at support@stampink.app.
07 Cookies & Tracking
The StampInk website (stampink.app) uses minimal, functional cookies, if any. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral tracking pixels.
- Session cookies — used to maintain state during your visit. These expire when you close your browser.
- Analytics — if we use analytics software, it is configured to anonymize IP addresses and not share data with third parties for advertising purposes.
The StampInk application (app.stampink.app) does not use cookies. It stores the local items described above in your browser. License validation occurs over a direct API call using your license key.
08 Data Retention
- Email addresses collected for trial code requests are retained until you request deletion or for 2 years of inactivity, whichever comes first.
- License records are retained for the duration of your license plus 3 years, for auditing and dispute resolution.
- Payment records are retained as required by applicable financial regulations (typically 7 years).
- Support correspondence is retained for 3 years after the last communication.
- Server logs are rotated and deleted after 90 days.
09 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy law (including GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act) to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data.
- Receive a machine-readable copy of your data (data portability).
- Opt out of any marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@stampink.app. We will respond within 30 days.
10 Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data we hold. These include TLS encryption for data in transit, hashed storage of device identifiers, and access controls limiting who at N2EDU INC can access the license database.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to security@stampink.app.
11 Children's Privacy
StampInk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12 Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Your continued use of StampInk after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We will not retroactively apply material changes to data already collected without your consent.
